Our Pastor 

Rev. Michael Angelo Frencher Jr was born in Pittsburgh, PA, but grew up in Greensboro NC. He is the son of Bishop Michael A Frencher Sr and Mrs. Gelenia (Vickie) Aaron Frencher. As a child, he fell in love with the church and accepted Christ at a young age. He loved watching his father preach on Sunday mornings and enjoyed all the other activities of the church. Rev. Frencher was a faithful member of his home church Trinity AME Zion Church in Greensboro, NC. Throughout his childhood, he was a faithful member of the children’s and youth choir, junior usher board, acolytes, Buds of Promise, and participated in Sunday school.   

 

Rev. Frencher graduated from Ben. L Smith High School in Greensboro, NC in 2008. After graduating from High School, he attended Guilford Technical Community College in Jamestown, NC, where he received an Associate’s Degree in Music. After receiving his Associate’s Degree, he attended Livingstone College in Salisbury NC where he received a Bachelor’s of Liberal Arts Degree in Music (Vocal Performance). He also attended Hood Theological Seminary in Salisbury, NC where he received his Masters of Divinity Degree. He is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated.

 

At a young age, people would tell him he was going to preach. He finally accepted his call in 2016 after years of running. On February 26, 2017 he preached his trial sermon and 4 months later became the pastor of Union Chapel AME Zion Church in Linwood, NC in June 2017 under the Leadership of The Right Reverend George E. Battle Jr. On March 17, 2018, Rev. Frencher was ordained a deacon in the Lord’s church, and he says “this is one of my favorite moments in my life because even though I was under the leadership of Bishop Battle, he allowed my father to lay hands on me and ordain me.” After three great years, Rev. Frencher was appointed to the Center Grove AME Zion Church in Tobaccoville, NC. While serving at Center Grove, he was ordained an elder. He is now the proud pastor of the Rock Grove AME Zion Church in Rock Hill, SC.

 

Rev. Frencher loves people and loves to serve wherever he goes. He loves to sing, listen to music, listen to sermons, watch sports and spend time with family. He is married to Rev. Anita Michelle Morgan Frencher and the father of Michael Angelo Frencher III (Trey). Rev. Frencher’s favorite scripture is 1 Corinthians 2:9 “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

Rev. Anita Michelle Morgan-Frencher is a native of Pope, MS. She is the daughter of the late Mr. Leon Morgan and Bishop Joseph and Robbie Morgan Johnson. Anita was formally educated in the South Panola School District of Mississippi and is a graduate of South Panola High School.

After high school, she followed her passion and attended J & J Hair Design College in Senatobia, MS. In 2009, she became a licensed Cosmetologist/Stylist. Her parents instilled in her the value of education and she understood the importance of it. After Cosmetology school, she found herself wanting to do more with and for people, so she enrolled at Holmes Community College in Grenada, MS. In 2014, she earned an Associate Degree in Social Work. She continued to pursue higher education at Jackson State University in Jackson, MS. In 2017, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work.

Anita is currently employed in the York County School System in Rock Hill, SC. In September 2009, she answered the call into ministry at the age of 22. She preached her initial sermon at the Pope Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church in November 2009. Anita received her Local Preacher’s License in 2010; ordained a Deacon in 2015 and ordained an Elder in 2018.

Anita is married to the love of her life the Rev. Michael A. Frencher, Jr who is the pastor of the Rock Grove AME Zion Church in Rock Hill, SC. Michael and Anita have been married for three years. They are blessed to be the parents of a wonderful little boy Michael Frencher III (Trey). Anita’s love for her family is what keeps her inspired to be the best woman she can be.
